Policies and Procedures

In order for Pet Minders to provide the best possible service for you, your pets and all our clients, the following applies.

PETS

It is imperative that all pets be up-to-date on vaccinations and proof of same submitted at time of contract signing. Pet Minders cannot provide service for aggressive animals, those with a history of biting, or pets whose vaccinations are not current. This is for the safety of the pet sitter. All pets must wear identification tags while in our care. Pet Minders welcomes disabled pets and/or those needing extra special care.

RESERVATIONS

All reservations must be made either through the website or by telephone at 404-315-1155. Please do not contact your pet sitter directly as they cannot make reservations. Please book as far ahead as possible to ensure we can provide service on the dates requested, especially for nationally recognized holidays.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE

Please leave a note for your pet sitter with specific instructions related to the current visit. While we have the instructions in our files from the original consultation, things may have changed slightly from the previous visit. Please advise us if there are alarm code or key changes before you leave. Make sure we have up-to-date emergency contact info in the case we are unable to get into your home, or there are questions or issues that arise while you are away. Please leave medications, special treats, poopie or cat litter disposal bags where we can easily see them.

BACK-UP SITTER

In the event of injury or illness of your assigned pet sitter, another Pet Minders staff sitter will be assigned. It is Pet Minders policy to ensure that your pets and home are never left unattended.

PAYMENT

Please leave a check, made out to Pet Minders, for your sitter to pick up on our first visit to your home. If you prefer to pay in advance, you may use Pay-Pal or mail a check to our office. Reservations for holidays or for any period of time over two weeks must be paid in full at time of booking.

CANCELLATIONS

Pet Minders does not currently charge for cancellations for non-holiday weeks/week-ends.

HOLIDAY CANCELLATIONS

Holiday cancellations made three weeks prior to first visit are refunded in full.  Holiday cancellations made two weeks prior to first visit are 50% refundable for entire schedule. Holiday cancellations made one week prior to first visit are 25% refundable for entire schedule. Holiday cancellations made less than one week's notice are non-refundable.

JOB SHARING

Pet Minders does not recommend job sharing. Our insurance and bonding policies cover Pet Minders employees only. While we understand the financial benefit of having friends and family share the visits it is stressful to both the pets and the pet sitters. All requests must be discussed with the owner of Pet Minders directly and may require a waiver of insurance and bonding protection provided by Pet Minders.

KEYS

All clients are required to provide two working sets of house keys at contract signing.
